Bringing Light Into / Out of the Darkness

Gizelle Luccio

An Invitation to Change

I invite you to become more fully aware of your true intentions in life.  You will learn how to be present to what you are deeply feeling emotionally, and thus go beyond expectations rooted in social identities.

By practicing being ‘present’, it is possible to remove barriers to responsible self-expression, and enable you to resolve core issues/beliefs.

The purpose of this counseling is to become fully alive by taking responsibility for your choices, and in freedom, to make new choices that will allow you to grow into your highest possibilities.

Philosophy of Treatment:

I earned my Masters in Theological Studies from the Claremont School of Theology in 1988, with a concentration in Pastoral Counseling.

I am a Certified Addictions Counselor (CADC II) and a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP-C) by MHACBO in the State of Oregon.

I chose to attend seminary because life lived in fullness and a journey toward wholeness requires a holistic approach – body, mind, emotions, and Spirit.

My Master’s degree required 3 years of education integrating theology, spirituality, and counseling theory/skills.

My thesis focused on a Jungian and Shamanic approach to counseling – reclaiming ancient wisdom for present day healing.

Education / Affiliations:

Certified Drug & Alcohol Counselor – State of Oregon (CADC #12-09-62U)

Qualified Mental Health Professional (C-QMHP) – MHACBO Certification #: 19-QMHPC-00730

Independent Behavioral Professional (thru ODDS) — Provider ID# 819261

M.A.T.S. Pastoral Counseling Concentration: May, 1988 — Claremont School of Theology, Claremont, CA

Bachelors of Arts in English & Education, May, 1984, University of Maryland, College Park, MD
Honors: Phi Beta Kappa, Phi Kappa Phi

Self-Awareness Counseling

Connect with the purpose of your life, discover the tools and resources to energize your own healing, and become empowered.

Self-Awareness Counseling is designed for those individuals who desire to move beyond an egoic understanding of themselves, by being willing to explore conditioned identity consciousness.

Identifying (and releasing) patterned responses enable you to take responsibility for your own emotional well-being, and to remove limitations that block you from your true Self.

I seek to guide individuals who desire to discover & grow into their highest possibilities.  Through clear and compassionate inquiry, my focus is to support clients to learn to meet themselves where they are and to build on the skills and talents s/he possesses.

Counseling supports/interventions are designed to remove barriers (e.g., limiting beliefs, conditioning, etc.) that block one from being empowered to make changes and live to their fullest capacity.

Family/Couple counseling centers on encouraging each person to be aware of their own pre-sets & ego-mind expectations, and take personal responsibility for their emotional well-being/choices.

Spiritual Exploration/Journey:

It took many years for me to grow into the realization that I could not be a passive recipient of random “God Shots“ with the expectation that I would somehow be reborn, and in the process completely reformed.

Instead, I grew in my awareness that I needed to participate in my relationship with Spirit, and in the process of participating, I was transformed.

This necessitated moving away from an intellectual understanding about God, shifting from reading about other people’s description about their understanding (even experiences) of God, letting go of study or being a student/seeker of God, to risk discovering my own first-hand experience of Spirit (of my most inner-most Self).

This also meant leaving behind theoretical, theological, ritualized, and dogmatic approaches to the spiritual realm (a truly terrifying prospect).  It meant that I would have to have some personal skin in the game, if I was to gain my own direct “knowing“ – a knowing that was more enduring than transcendent experiences which were fleeting, and ultimately ended in me once again being earthbound.

I would have to take responsibility for being present, for showing up, for putting in time and energy to explore a whole untapped and unfamiliar place within my being.

If you desire to experience “Something More” in the realm of the Spirit (in the realm of YOUR Spirit) — then join me!

Addictions Counseling:

Alcohol, tobacco and other drug abuse and/or process addictions are a complex phenomenon.

While it has been held to be a disease, we believe this view is too singular.  Rather, the addictive process involves biological, psychological, and sociological aspects.

Each individual will have his or her own set of predispositions and compulsions.  For some, this may be a biological disease.  For others, substance abuse may be the result of cultural pressures, psychological pain or even spiritual loss.

No singular theory or approach fully describes addiction. It follows that no individual approach will meet the needs of our individuals.

Rather, we must adapt to each individual the services provided.  Research confirms the benefits are profound when integrative therapies are incorporated into the treatment plan.

Although the changes within the mind, body, and spirit of the client may be subtle at first, the daily experiences build one on the other to help promote positive, lasting change.

Spiritual Counseling:

Spiritual Counseling is designed for those individuals who desire to have an on-going deeper dive into their Soul Journey.

Connect with the spiritual purpose of your life, develop tools and access resources to energize your own healing, and become empowered.

Discover the great beauty in transforming your Self and your Life, in the midst of any circumstance.

In addition to traditional spiritual mentoring, intuitive channeled guidance is also available ( See SoulLeadings.com ) — access to spiritual resources opens one into deeper awareness and opportunities for change.

Background:

 — I have over 35 years of experience blending clinical and spiritual awareness to support others in healing & empowerment — combining a Master’s degree in Theological Studies/Pastoral Counseling, as well as intensive training in the spiritual transformation process.

I’ve served abused, addicted, and emotionally disturbed youth & adults in out-patient & residential treatment; offering support to families & couples in transition & reconciliation.

Provided individual spiritual counseling on personal, on-call basis for those in residential treatment for Substance Use & Co-occurring Disorders. Facilitated groups and lectured weekly on elements of Spirituality (as distinct from religion) to offer an alternative view/perspective to support clients to discern their own spiritual path as an aid in their recovery process.

Served as a Chaplain for a palliative care non-profit organization — met with individuals from a wide-range of religious faith traditions.

Coordinated with care team providers (i.e., case workers, in-home health nurses, doctors, and social workers) to serve patients who were facing end-of-life challenges, specifically those desiring spiritual support and care as they sought a faith-filled way to live each moment remaining.

Behavioral Consulting

My focus is to support care-givers and family members to learn how to meet clients/customers where they are, and to build on the skills and talents they possess.

Behavioral interventions are designed to remove barriers (such as limiting conditioned beliefs) that block clients from being empowered to make changes and live their lives to their fullest capacity.

Family and Staff consultation services center on encouraging care-givers to become fully present to their clients (customers), letting go of outcome bias, and commit to support their client to make new choices that enable them to be successful – both in their home and in their community.

Testimonials

After we hung up from our session, I told my daughter that you were really gifted with your work (spiritual counseling) … and if we could bottle it that I would drink it!

Thank you — you did a great job!  We really appreciate your ability to successfully engage and have such positive results.

We love you and want to continue working with you!”
